Jungfraujoch – spectacular world of snow and ice experiences

The tricable gondola Eiger Express takes you from the Grindelwald Terminal straight to Eigergletscher in 15 minutes, getting you to the Jungfraujoch 47 minutes faster than before. The trip is particularly spectacular during the winter months. The railway line runs along the foot of the renowned Three Peaks – the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau – and through the natural idyll of the Jungfrau Region. Eagles, penguins and bears look as if they had just turned to ice. The ice corridor was created by mountain guides with pickaxes and saws in the 1930s. Once you have adjusted to the mountain air in the interior of the Jungfraujoch, you’ll be tempted to engage in adventures and experiences outside in the snow. Try out from mid-May to mid-October various winter sports in a compact space in the Snow Fun Park. Turn pirouettes while snowtubing, go skiing or snowboarding, go sledging on a Balancer or whizz through the air on the Flying Fox rope slide. All the necessary equipment can be hired on the spot. Be sure to wear warm clothing; the temperatures can be freezing whatever the time of year, although spring can make a brief appearance in the hottest months of the year, with temperatures on the Jungfraujoch often considerably above zero in midsummer.
