Food Tour Lake Brienz

Go on a culinary tour in the Bernese Oberland. Discover the wonderful Holiday Region Interlaken by train, boat and mountain railway and enjoy a delicious three-course meal, with each course served at three different stops. The tour can be booked from 2 September daily to 20 October 2024.

Three courses, three experiences and three journeys. First, you’ll be treated to a delicious starter at the 3a Restaurant in Interlaken. At noon, you’ll take the boat across turquoise Lake Brienz. On board, you’ll be served an appetizing lunch. After your arrival in Brienz, you’ll feel your cares melt away as you walk along the quay. Then, it's on to Interlaken Ost with the Zentralbahn where you visit Harder Kulm to sweeten up the evening with a dessert. A digital guide will give you directions to each destination and supply you with entertaining facts. Kids receive a pack of coloured pencils and three colouring postcards.

The Food Tour

10:30: start of the tour and you receive your starter kit
The foot tour begins in Interlaken. To go on the tour, you receive a starter kit. The starter kit contains the following: A QR code to begin the digital tour, a regional drink, three food vouchers and tickets for the boat, train and mountain railway. Kids also receive a set of colouring postcards and colouring pencils.

Important: From Monday to Saturday, the tour starts from Tourist Information Interlaken. On Sunday, the tour starts from the Interlaken Youth Hostel.
 
11:00: 1st stop – 3a Restaurant Interlaken
The laidback 3a Restaurant is your first stop. Here, you can choose from a selection of regional dried meats or regional mountain cheese with a drink.
 
12:07: 2nd stop – Lake Brienz boat cruise
On the "MS Brienz", you’ll be served a seasonal main course and a drink. On the way you’ll enjoy the view of turquoise Lake Brienz and the surrounding mountains.
 
13:20: Visit to Brienz, the woodcarving village
Upon arrival in Brienz, treat yourself to a leisurely walk and explore the charming woodcarving village.
 
15:02: Spectacular train journey
The Zentralbahn will take you back to Interlaken along the shore of Lake Brienz. Sit at the panoramic window on the left side of the carriage in the direction of travel and enjoy the view.

Information: The train line from Brienz to Interlaken Ost is closed because of the storm damage in Brienz. You can take the replacement bus at 14:57.

15:40: Funicular railway to Harder Kulm
The funicular railway, which is over 100 years old, takes you to Harder Kulm in just ten minutes. Along the way, you’ll enjoy a stunning landscape of mountains and lakes.
 
15:45: 3rd stop with panoramic view
Finally, you’ll enjoy a delicious dessert at the Harder Kulm Panorama Restaurant with a view of the Three Peaks.

Two scoops of ice cream of your own choice with cream including coffee, espresso, tea or soft drink (3dl)

"Globi" ice cream of your own choice including soft drink (2dl)
 
The Food Tour can't be booked for children under 6 years of age, but they are of course still very welcome. The boat trip, the train ride and the excursion to the Harder Kulm are free of charge. Consumption in the restaurant must be paid for independently.

Group reservation of more than 20 people
