5 Tips for sunny weather

5 tips for a relaxing stay in good weather in the Holiday Region Interlaken

After the rain comes the sun. The minute the sun shines on the Holiday Region Interlaken, you feel the awakening of spring in every sense. It’s time to get out and explore the region – on a stroll, by bike, with a city tour or on a hike. Here we share 5 great tips for sunny days.

Tip 1: Bonstettenpark lakeside path

Treat yourself to a leisurely stroll along the lakeside path from Lake Thun and marvel at the fresh greenery and breathtaking mountain panorama. The park offers secluded spots and benches where you can relax, ideal for a picnic or a leisurely barbecue. The wooden jetty with its view of the glittering lake offers a perfect photo opportunity.

Tip 2: Kayak and canoe tours on Lake Thun or Lake Brienz

Hire a kayak or canoe and explore Lake Thun or Lake Brienz from a different perspective. Whether alone, with friends or with a guide. What could be better than experiencing the awakening of nature in a kayak? Paddle through the crystal-clear water surrounded by a breathtaking mountain panorama and soak up the tranquillity of nature.

Tip 3: Cycling tour of the town

Cycling is a great way to discover Interlaken, the Bödeli (as the area between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz is affectionately known) and the banks of both lakes. Rent a bicycle or an e-bike and ride off by yourself or with a local guide. Can you already feel the fresh air and the warming rays of sunshine on your face?

Tip 4: Spring hike to the Blueme observation tower

While the mountain hiking trails are still covered in snow, spring is already blossoming in all its glory around lakes Thun and Brienz. This hike along Lake Thun to the Blueme observation tower is therefore particularly beautiful at this time of year. It takes around two and a half hours to walk from the village of Sigriswil to the panoramic bridge and on to the Blueme observation tower. Once at the top, you will be rewarded with a wonderful panorama that stretches as far as the Jura and Bernese Alps.

Tip 5: Waterfalls by Lake Brienz

The Lake Brienz region is renowned for its wealth of waterfalls. The best known of these is surely the aforementioned Giessbach Falls, which roar down over 400 metres in 14 cascades (and are easily reached by boat). You will also have a golden opportunity to stand behind the waterfall and witness this natural spectacle right up close. For those thinking of combining their visit with a hike, the "Three Waterfalls Trail" is ideal. The route, which takes around five hours, encompasses the Erschwanden waterfall and the Milibach waterfall as well as the Giessbach Falls.
